Rwamagana: Woman and son arrested over alleged murder of husband

A 45-year-old woman and her 22-year-old son from Fumbwe Sector in Rwamagana District have been arrested on suspicion of killing the family’s husband.

The incident occurred on the night of April 27, 2026, in Rukwaya Village, Sasabirago Cell, where the victim is alleged to have been attacked and killed inside his home.

Local authorities said the family had been living in a context of repeated domestic conflict, reportedly linked to marital disputes, including allegations of infidelity.

One local official said: “It is a 47-year-old man who was killed by his wife, aged 45, together with their 22-year-old son. The family had ongoing disputes. He was killed during the night, and the suspects were immediately arrested.”

Authorities confirmed that the suspects are being held at the RIB station in Nyagasambu as investigations continue. The body of the deceased was taken to Rwamagana Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Police and investigation organs say inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
