Volleyball: APR Teams Win Nyerere Cup

APR Volleyball Club and APR Women’s Volleyball Club have won the Nyerere Cup, a tournament named after Tanzania’s former president, Nyerere, held in Tanzania.

The tournament concluded on Monday, October 14, 2024. APR VC claimed the trophy after defeating Rukinzo VC from Burundi with a 3-1 set victory. At the same time, APR WVC secured their title by beating Tanzania Prisons 3-0.

In addition to the team’s success, APR VC head coach Peter Kamasa was named the tournament’s best coach. Both teams are expected to return to Kigali this Tuesday.

The military teams, apart from being invited to the Nyerere Cup 2024, used the opportunity to prepare for the upcoming 2024-25 volleyball season.
