AJPRODHO Jijukirwa elects new members

During an extra-ordinary General Assembly that took place on March 31, 2019 in Kigali, AJPRODHO Jijukirwa, the youth organization that strives for Human Rights and Development has elected new members to replace others who resigned over internal duty conflicts.
The meeting of disputes brought together members of the organization and board members to discuss issues hindering them to successfully achieve project goals and development of members as well.
Louis Muhigirwa, Chairperson of AJPRODHO Jijukirwa said that one of many tangible decisions of the assembly was to elect new members after observing problems in internal auditing department led by a personnel whose wife is in charge of finance in the same organization, which was a critical issue in terms of fairness while passing an internal audit.
“Some of current workers resigned citing own reasons, another one who has been the internal auditor has resigned few hours ago after we revealed his wife is a financial manager, we found it cannot work as we realized some conflicts of interests, he has then resigned and replaced,” Muhigirwa said.
Muhigirwa noted that this internal auditor has failed to audit his wife’s activities and the board noticed some crisis in finance. The board did not realize before that the two staff have close relationship as a wife and a husband during the first election.
The organization has so far supported 9,000 youth to create jobs and are now self-reliant.
As a way forward, the organization has committed to boost parent forums ‘utugoroba tw’ababyeyi’ to prevent family conflicts. “We have another project to help teenage mothers who dropped out of school to regain rights they were deprived,” He added.
