Huye: Three men arrested over theft of motorcycle

Police in Huye District arrested three men in connection with theft of a motorcycle, which was stolen in the City of Kigali last month.

Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Emmanuel Kayigi, the Southern region Police Spokesperson, who confirmed the arrest, identified the suspects as; Anicet Ntawukuriryayo, Joseph Iyakaremye, and Ildephonse Nyandwi.
According to CIP Kayigi, the trio was arrested after the motorcycle owner- Alpha Cyubahiro reported the theft and worked with the law enforcers yo track the suspects.
“The victim got information that the suspects had escaped to Huye. We worked with motorcyclists until they were tracked and arrested on June 5, and the motorcycle recovered” he said.
Ntawukuriryayo is said to be the be the thief who stole it in Kigali and Iyakaremye was the alleged blocker.
The suspects were handed over to Rwanda Investigation Bureau.
The Southern Region Spokesperson, appreciated the owner of the motorcycle for sharing timely information that led to the arrest of suspects, and recovery of the motorcycle.
He equally appreciated commercial motorcyclists for their cooperation which he said yielded tangible results.
The motorcycle was handed over to the owner.
While receiving his motorcycle, Cyubahiro, who is also a taxi motorcycle operator in Nyabugogo, thanked Police and Rwanda Investigation Bureau in Huye for helping to trail his motorcycle until it was recovered.
