The PGGSS has been a popular competition in Rwanda since seven years ago, attracting a big turn up comparing to other competitions in the country.
Every year, the winner of this competition goes away with Rwf 25 million cash prize.
Joseph Mushyoma, the CEO of East African Promoters who is the core organizer of this initiative told The Inspirer that the nomination was done with full trustworthiness.
“We sent documents to the media houses not via artists, we believe in our media houses and that is why we sent nomination forms to them. Someone who is here for voting is that he is representing his/her media house, so, we believe the Top Ten they selected is correct,” Mushyoma noted.
The PGGSS competition started in 2011. The RnB singer Tom Close is the pioneer winner, King James the second in 2012, Riderman the third in 2013, JayPolly the 4th in 2014, Knowless the 5th in 2015, Urban Boys the 6th in 2016 and Dream Boys won the previous one in 2017.
