Singer David Walters to light up Kigali this evening

The French Institute brings a Cultural Programming Mixed-Race Eletro-Hip-Hop concert to Kigali Music fans this evening from 8pm at Umubano-Marasa Hotel (KG7-Avenue).

David Walters is a global singer from Marseille with Caribbean origins.

David chooses to pack his bags in the early 2000s. Being musician, producer and reporter, he gives birth to a repertoire of electronic beats and folk. he conquers the hearts of the people of Marseilles and well with his solar music, mixed and contrasted, electro-acoustic mix skilfully proportioned in which are mixed Caribbean and Creole sounds. his origins as he says himself are not essential.

“My roots, that’s all I’ve been able to do since I came to this planet: all traveling, all the people I met … I feel heir to the Creole culture and French culture, as well as English culture,” said Walters.

Masterfully, he orchestrates in Live and in Solo, guitar-voice-percussion with his so singular touch. Increasing notoriety obliges the first famous parties to follow one another: Tracy, Chapman, Morcheeba, Gotan project, Lenny Kravitz, Jamiroquai, etc.

Two albums have already been published: “Awa” in 2006 and “Home” in 2009. Selected in 2011 by Canal + to host the TV show “The New Explorers”. It is with his soul globe-trotter that he makes people discover the richness of peoples and their musical cultures, all over the world.

Inspired by his travels, David Walters realized in 2015 the mix tape “NEVER STOP EXPLORING“, (in partnership with “NOVA”) original soundtracks in the colors of the countries covered. In constant motion, David Walters is currently working on the realization of his next album.
